Skip Counting Fun

We keep revisiting skip counting throughout the year.  If your kids are like mine, some already have it and others are not there yet.  These sets have a little something for everybody, I needed to have some extra supports for those still learning how to skip count and also wanted to challenge those who are ready for more.  The kids really liked these so keep the lookout for more to come.   Please feel free to grab yourself a copy.

Have a great weekend! Karen :)

Roll and Color Sight Words

Wow.  It has been forever.  Between my sweeties at school and my two little ones at home I have just not found the time to sit down and update my blog.  I have been making lots of things for my classroom and thought I'd share a few new things that we have been doing.

Roll and Color Sight Words

We had been doing something similar with numbers in math and I thought, why not do this with our sight words.  We tried it our last week and the kids really had fun - who doesn't like playing with dice!   I have created a set that goes with the Rainbow Word groups that we use, which covers the pre primer dolch words.  I have also included a blank template in the set that you can set up using words that would work for you.  I don't know about you, but I spend a fortune in color ink and thought I could just do this in black and white.  If your interested in a set in color that you could laminate and use in a center let me know - I can easily posts that as well.
Hope you your kids have fun.  :) Karen

Scavenger Hunt

We have Open House before school starts (school starts here Sept.6th) Each year I have the children do a scavenger hunt with their parents to help them get acquainted with  the classroom.  This year I've changed it up to go with a Pirate theme.  Please feel free to grab yourself a copy.  Scavenger Hunt     Welcome note for scavenger HuntHave a great evening :)  Karen

Word Searches for Sight Words

I made word searches to go with my Rainbow Words that I use to teach the pre-primer dolch words.  This is atemplate that you can use to make your own word searches.
The template can be grabbed here: Word Searches
I also have a completed set that goes with my Rainbow Word groups that you can download from my website here:  rainbow word word searches  (I tried to upload just a word doc to google docs but there were issues showing some of the fonts I used - sorry, I'm still new at this) but if your interested in the word doc you can download that from my website.
If you find something you can use it would be great if you could leave a comment or follow my blog?  Hope you find something helpful :o)  Karen

Letter Identification

I have been working on some easy letter identification activities for my kids that come in not knowing their letters.  This first set has very simple coloring and cut and match upper and lower case letter activities.

Leader In Me

We will be starting the  Leader  In Me process in my district next year. A part of this is to have Data Notebooks in which the children record personal and academic goals and to chart their progress toward these goals.  These are a few pages I have created for our Kindergarten notebooks.

Please click on the links below to grab a copy of any of the pages if you can find them helpful (this is my first attempt at this so I hope the links work! :)

I would love to hear from anyone who's school is already involved in this great experience.
